I don't know what "everything" is unless you state it, so I'll describe one convenient way to load and maintain your songs on a shuffle. This assumes your shuffle is the current 4th gen model (or 3rd gen model), not the earlier shuffle models (which work differently).

First, if the iTunes sidebar (along left side of window) is not visible, from the menu bar, under View, select Show Sidebar.

If you don't already one, create a new playlist (click the plus sign at the bottom of the sidebar) for songs you want on the shuffle; you can call it something like "iPod Songs." Put ALL of the songs you want on the shuffle on this playlist, including those new songs.

Select the shuffle in the sidebar, under DEVICES. Near the top, there is a bar of buttons, starting with Summary. Click on Music next to Summary. This is the shuffle's Music screen, where you tell iTunes how to sync songs to the shuffle.

Check the box from Sync Music. NOTE: If there are songs on the shuffle that are not in your current iTunes library, those songs will be lost when you set up automatic syncing.

Choose the option to sync Selected playlists, artists, albums, and genres. Find that "iPod Songs" playlist under Playlists, and select (checkmark) it. You don't need to select anything else, but you can select other things on these lists, if desired.

When you click Apply, iTunes syncs the songs in your selection(s) to the shuffle. Going forward, to update songs on the shuffle, you can just update that "iPod Songs" playlist in your iTunes library (add/remove songs). The shuffle does not need to be connected. The next time you connect the shuffle (or click Sync if the shuffle is already connected), iTunes automatically updates the shuffle with the same changes.
