Under settings, screensaver, photos, iCloud photos there is my photo stream and also photo sharing which has an activity folder. How does one get a selected album from my iCloud photos into the activity folder so that I may use that as a screensaver?

You can't add content directly, Activity reflects what has been added elsewhere, so effectively adding content to any photo stream album will add it to the Activity folder.
