How to update iPhoto events in iMovie 13?

When I use iMovie '13 to open my iPhoto library, I don't see the last few months of images. The most recent images are from October 2013... which is about when the new version of iMovie came out.

How can I force iMovie '13 to reload my iPhoto library and keep it current?

MacBook Pro (15-inch Early 2011), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5), 2.2 GHz Intel i7, 16GB RAM

You shouldn't have to do anything in iMovie. It should be reading your iPhoto Library automatically.

I found the problem! It's not iMovie... it's iPhoto. iPhoto is importing my events, but it isn't putting them in the correct chronological order. The newest events (from November and December) are listed below the October events (between October and September). Weird. But once I found them, there was no problem bringing them into iMovie. Thanks, all... guess I need to post this issue in a different forum! 😍
