I'm trying to find a text message

I'm trying to find a text message sent to me on 25th Decemeber 2011, I know who sent it to me. But when I try and scroll, my phone always crashes just before I get to the message I am looking for. Any ideas how I can get to it without scrolling?

if you know the words in you, you might be able to search it in your spotlight search
