Dec 30, 2013 1:11 AM in response to -rAs!™by Harry468,Nike changed their website ( http://nikeplus.nike.com/plus/active ) in May 2012:
The site will be down while we move to the new Nike+. Your steps, runs and gym workouts are safe and sound. When Nike+ Active returns, your data will be there -- on a platform that lets you do more than ever before. Thanks for conquering the world with us, and, in the meantime, check out the new Nike+.
But the website is still not available. With my old ipod nano 5g I was able to sync with the new Nike+ website till Spring 2013. My iPod 7G was never be able to sync walks to the website (only the runs). The Nike support told me, that is was a bug, that I was able to sync with the new Nike+ website and now the bug is fixed, so I'm not able to sync anymore.
It looks like, the website will never return, because everyone at apple and nike is telling me, that I'm the only guy, who is using the ipod for stepcount.
regards harry

Jan 3, 2014 1:25 AM in response to -rAs!™by JPfromIN,I also have been having this problem and been patiently waiting a year for the fix. I've not seen Apple publically announce any information, everything has been 2nd hand from the support boards. Very sad support from Apple on this one.

They sold a device and an app and 6 months later stop the service/function. Far from the ethical and respectful behavior both companies are claiming

Apr 29, 2015 12:46 PM in response to -rAs!™by Curt Wiederhoeft,Are you concerned with step count, or distance walked? If it's the distance, just switch the workout mode to "Run," and it will track, even at walking speeds. You might need to recalibrate, but it'll record fine, and sync with NikePlus fine.

Apr 29, 2015 2:37 PM in response to Curt Wiederhoeftby Scubaggdiver,Thanks Curt. I tried that but the run stops automatically so it is not suitable for long walks with stops all day long.
But it is the only workaround I also found so far.
