Problem with phone turns on boots up to apple icon then turns off intermitt

Hi I ave a phone I bought. I charged it and when tured on, it boots t

th apple icon and turns off. Soeties shows fine typing on the far top

off screen. I read online about the procedure of hookig up the one

end of usb cord to computer. Then make sure phone is off. Then

while holding dow the HOME key plugi the usb end into the phone

stil holding HOME button till it shows te apple icon and ten the itunes

icon. The it said about a window would show and give me option to reset

the phone. Well, it never did show a window but I clicked on iphone i think

andthen gave me options on how to. But with no luck.. How can I do a master

reset when I cat get into the phone. Thx Mike G
