If I make a document in Pages and Save it to Documents on my Mac, will it also show up on iCloud or do I have to save it to two separate locations?

I recently got a MacBook Pro 15inch Retina Baseline (Late 2013). I am a student and will be using my mac to create a ton of documents. I know that when you go to save your document from iWork you have the option of Documents folder (or any other) or iCloud. I was wondering if someone could answer, whether or not the iWork docs I save in Documents show up in iCloud or ifI have to save each document to both locations. Thanks for all the help.

MacBook Pro with Retina display, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 15" 2 GHz i7 Hswl, 8GB RAM, 256 GB

All the documents you store in the Documents folder are not stored in iCloud. In order to upload them to iCloud, open Pages (or any iWork application) and drag the document to the iCloud window.

However, that will remove the document from the Documents folder. If you want to keep the document in both places, you need to make a copy of the document on a different folder on your Mac, so you will have the same file twice. Then, upload one of them to iCloud
