i backed up my iMac in NAS N7700 , I tried to backup from the recovery mode but it doesn't show up in the menu , I tried to mount the AFP volume and it doesn't work WHAT'S THE PROPER WAY TO DO IT

I am not sure about the N7700.. many non-apple NAS do not store TM backups correctly.. but then I am not sure it is time machine.
