I'm using safari 7.01 on my MacBook Air running 10.9.1. Recently videos streaming from Vimeo are all missing their audio. The same is true when I use Firefox. They only playback accurately on Chrome. Any suggestions?

I have the same problem! But i'm fine on Firefox but no audio on safari & chrome...
Reset Safari.
Click Safari in the menu bar.
From the drop down select "Reset Safari".
Click "Reset".
Empty Caches
Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
"Develop" menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
That worked for me thanks so much! Chrome issue was also solved as well.

By the way, what is happening that a person suddenly has to go through the steps you mention?
May be that Vimeo cookie or Safari cache had to be refreshed for the correct
rendering of the videos.
Resetting Safari removed the cookies (website data) replaced with a new one.
Emptying Caches refreshed the caches.
