How can I copy a self-made ringtone off an iPhone to another iPhone?

Good Day,

I made a ringtone of my son's voice long ago and I cannot find a copy of it anywhere. The only copy that exists is on my Iphone 5. Now I bought an iPhone 5S and I would like to copy the ringtone over to the new phone. I've of course synced and backed up, etc., but it seems that the iTunes backup doesn't copy over ringtones? Or is there something special I need to do to accomplish this simple task?

I think I had originally made this tone on an iPhone 4 and somehow, back when I got the iPhone 5 (on day one in fact), I managed to copy it over. Did the iTunes backup procedure change in the last year or so?

TIA!

iPhone 5, iOS 6

No iTunes content is included in any iPhone backup. If this ringtone only exists on your phone, & is not in your iTunes library, on your computer, you will have to use third-party software, like this to extract it from your phone:

Once extracted, & in your iTunes library, you can then sync it to your 5S.
