Error 1402- could not open key....??? wat???

Y cant i install the itunes software on my windows xp. the error says:

Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY LOCALMACHINE\Software\classes\.cdda\OpenWithProgids.
Verify that you have sufficient accessto that key, or contact your support personnel.

I have no idea what that means and i have no idea what to do...i jst bought an ipod nano, i used to have an ipod shuffle and the software used to work fine. But one day it stoped working and i could not instal it agen without this error.

no i Have the updated itunes/ipod nano cd and it still wont install coz of that error...

PLEASE HELP!

First goto the control panel>add and remove and remove/uninstall BOTH itunes and qquicktime. DIsable your antivirus and download then reinstall the latest iTUnes from apple.com

If this does not work for you, goto the PC makers site and download ALL updates especailly patches for iTUnes they offer for your model.

After doing all this it still doesn't install you will have to alter your registry by going to the link below, only do this after trying everything else out http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93865
