Dec 25, 2013 5:03 AM in response to andyskismby Barry Hemphill,I typically use target mode (articles elsewhere here). I normally migrate using a current Time Machine backup as the source. There is no avoiding the iCloud transmission. I just started using iCloud recently, so I have no data....
It is a bit old-fashioned, but I do not trust a wi-fi network to do software installs (no real reason )
