Simply reset the TC to factory and start over. No reset will harm any file on the TC.. a simple firmware update should not do anything.. and I am not sure why you are having issues. But start over and see.. you should give the TC a new name, short, no spaces and pure alphanumeric.

See C9 here. http://pondini.org/TM/Troubleshooting.html

Do a full reset of time machine. A4 here.

See if you can get your files.. but you need to realise.. if you deleted files on the Mac deliberately then TM could have deleted them from the backup.

Or did you also upgrade to Mavericks.. ughh..

If the computer is upgraded to Mavericks and you already did a TM backup it could have overwritten the existing backup.

Open the TC in finder and see if you have more than one sparsebundle on the disk.

If you only have one try manually locating the file or backup from earlier time. Before Mavericks.

See the info in Pondini on restoring files.

A14-17 here.

Particularly Q15.

Sometimes you might need to do a full restore to an alternative location.. or migration.

There is more info here.

Moving files from accounts.. etc.

If you want explicit instructions.. then I need explicit information.

In your first post you stated.

nd doesn't read the older backups when i want to recovery an file or folder.

Now you say..

The Airport Time Capsule doesn't read the backups, no he does not want to recovery a thing.

So you do not actually need to recover anything.. ?? you do not need the current backup at all?

And just to be clear.. it is not the time capsule that reads the backups .. Time capsule is a dumb router with a hard disk in it.. you mean Time Machine which is the backup software in the computer. It has lost connection with the backups.

What OS are you running on the computer?

Can you find the TC in finder? Can you mount the disk and find the sparsebundle?
