passcode to unlock not accepted after iOs7 upgrade

I just upgraded to iOs7; when I attempt to enter my passcode to unlock my phone, it is not accepted. I tried my appleID without success; now I am locked out of the phone for increasing amounts of time....what is happening?

iPhone 4S, iOS 7, just upgraded....

If you can't get your passcode to work you'll have to restore the phone to remove it. If you have iOS 7 with Find My iPhone enabled, you'll have to force it into recovery mode to restore it, as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808.
