Dec 25, 2013 2:31 PM in response to Mobajlby ChrisJ4203,Who unlocked the phone for T-mobile UK? If T-mobile unlocked it, then there is some other thing wrong. You say it is locked now, what makes you think it is locked? You do not provide a lot of information. Could you explain what is happening a little better?

Dec 25, 2013 2:37 PM in response to Mobajlby modular747,Hi. I have an iPhone4S which had been unlocked from T-Mobile UK
Unless it was officially unlocked by T-Moblile, the phone was hacked to unlock. When you restored, the hack was removed and the phone re-locked to T-Mobile UK. Only T-Mobile UK can unlock it, and only if you qualify.

Dec 25, 2013 3:10 PM in response to Mobajlby Mobajl,Thank you both for fast response. I had it unlocked through "officialiphoneunlock.co.uk". I received the confirmation that it was now officially unlocked and I was asked to connect it to itunes.... and so I did. It was then effectively unlocked and I could use any sim I wanted. Now, after the reset it is locked again :-/ In fact whenever I put any local sim (Malta) it is rejected as an "invalid sim" (same as when it was locked). I am afraid you must have guessed right...... must have been a hack since I never contacted T-Mobile directly

Dec 25, 2013 3:16 PM in response to Mobajlby modular747,That site (and many others like it) is a scam. The phone was unlocked by a hacking method, and was not "official." Only T-Mobile UK can officially unlock it.

Dec 25, 2013 8:32 PM in response to Mobajlby ChrisJ4203,I"m sorry this happened, but in modular747's words, you got scammed. Just remember from now on that no one can have a phone unlocked other than the original carrier. Good luck.

Dec 26, 2013 12:33 AM in response to Mobajlby Mobajl,Thanks ChrisJ4203. I did try to contact them (officialiphoneunlock) directly to see if in anyway I could re-unlock the mobile... but no reply yet. The only thing I get is an automated reply stating that my iphone is unlocked. I will pass the word around about what these scammers. Best wishes for the Christmas season and for the new year to you and ALL
