late 2009 macbook keyboard repair

keyboard needs to be cleaned and some of the keys have broken, could i take it to an apple store and have them repair/clean it?

MacBook, OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)

If the computer still has a current Apple service repair coverage plan in effect, (either the initial one-year or the additional optional two year extended AppleCare plan) you could call an Apple Store near you and set an appointment to take in and discuss the issue(s) with a product specialist or Genius, there. They could still answer questions & resolve some issues even if the MacBook no longer has AppleCare.


The item probably would require a replacement of the entire keyboard as a unit; that may also require the top deck of that section to be replaced, depending on how the sub-section was constructed; they may be attached. Some older kinds of keyboards in the past could have single keys replaced, but these are a bit different.
