Torrent Seeding

Playing with uTorrent today and I moved my downloaded torrents to automatically go to iTunes. It's a nice setup but now when the torrent is done downloading it stops seeding! I'm guessing that's because it moved the completed download to iTunes and u Torrent can't see the file anymore to see. Can't I have everything?

Can't I send the download automatically to itunes but still let it seed?

Tdub327,

I know that "not all torrents are illegal". I download games and updates from the developer sites via torrent (EA Games [Origin] is just one example). But there are almost NO music torrents provided by record labels or artists. It defies logic that the RIAA would be suing people worldwide for file sharing if labels or artists were encouraging it.

That said, iTunes, and the download location you choose with uTorrent have nothing to do with whether or not a torrent will continue seeding once it's finished. If the hash file cuts your connection off upon completion, or if the other peers have filtering on, seeding will stop once you've reached 100% downloaded. Origin game files and updates do this all the time. I've seen a Sims3 torrent go from 250 peers in the swarm to 0 in less than three seconds. You can't control that.😟
