i forgot my guided access passcode and i'm unable to exit now. i'm stuck, what can i do

When you are stuck in guided access mode, you are really stuck as the typical triple tap on the home button to quit guided access mode won't let guided access mode quit! Even a force quit won't work sometimes, because the power button and the home button are disabled. The only way I have to get out of guided access mode is to hold the home button and the power button together for 15 seconds. This will turn off guided access by rebooting your device. Once your device is off, you can set new password for guided access in settings.

Even though that person had an IOS6 device, it still works for IOS7.
