23" apple brushed steel cinema screen with win 7

Hi,

I am running an apple brushed steel 23" cinema screen with a win 7 professional desktop machine. There is a small amount of brightness control, but nowhere near as much as the same screen on a mac mini. I wondered if I might get more control over brightness if I install the display driver that would be used in Bootcamp. Do you know if this is the answer, and if it would be easy to find and install the driver? I am and experienced computer user (used to be a professional bioinformatician and programmer) but now I am at home with a 3 year old so I can't afford much time to fight the problem and would really appreciate any hints. Buy an Apple computer is not an option. Selling the screen may be an option if that is the only way out.
