I got a new AirPort Express and would like to use it to extend the wifi in my home and stream music to the whole house audio system. Cant get it set up without an "unexpected error please try again" message on the last step.

I'm using a LinkSys EA6500 for my wifi. Cable modem. I have ethernet cable to AirPort Express at the other end of the house. i do want to use AirPlay from anywhere on the wifi network. is this even possible?

You can use the AirPort Express to stream audio to an all-house media system, but you will not be able to use it to extend the wireless range of your Linksys router as the two are incompatible for this feature.
