Final Cut X Update Issues.

I'm putting together a series of sketch-like shorts which I made in individual projects. When I try to transfer them (via copy and paste) for assembly into a master project, effects don't transfer and sections of clips missing and replaced with black spots. This also causes audio to shift in random sections of the timeline. This only started happening after the update. Any ideas of a better way to put together the master project or why this is happening?
