Remove Disc Utility Files

PowerBook 17, Mid 2010

OS 10.7.5

I have a failing external Hard Drive and tried to repair it using Disc Utility, which failed, and now that the Mac knows it can't be repaired I can no longer save changes to the files.

I would like to know what Preference file(s) (or other pertinent file(s)) I need to remove to undo the Disc Utility evaluation, so I can edit files; or any other tips to restore the Hard Drive to it's previous state before running the Disc Utility.

I do know how to access the Invisible Library files.

Thank you very much for any information that can be provided.

Happy Holidays to All !!!

None that I know of.

You will need to try some more powerful recovery tool. You need to have backup for all hd's.
