Any ideas how to setup Q see Qt548 security cameras to view remotely while using the newest AirPort Extreme

I recently purchased an AirPort Extreme and now I can not view my Q See QT548 security cameras remotely. I have ports 85 and server port 6036. I just need any info how to do this, I am stumped.

According to the QSee Remote Monitoring Setup Guide remote access to the DVR requires either a router that supports UPnP or to place the DVR in a DMZ.

The AirPort Extreme does NOT support UPnP so the only potential option is to configure the DVR to be in a DMZ. Apple calls this a Default Host.

To define a network client to be a Default Host you would use the AirPort Utility, as follows:

  • Run the AirPort Utility.
  • Select the AirPort Extreme, and then, select Edit.
  • Select the Network tab.
  • Select Network Options...
  • Select "Enable default host at:" so the check box is checked, and then, enter the IP address of the DVR in the window to the right of this option. Note: You should assign a static Private IP address to th DVR so that it will be easier to access from the Internet. One way to do this is to use the DHCP Reservation feature that is located on the same Network tab.

Hello, my name is James with Q-See support. It is definatly possible to forward ports 85 & 6036 on the Airport router. Run you Airport Utility and edit your Airport Extreme. Go to the Network tab and you should see something similar to Port Mapping. Click on the '+' and enter the following:

Description: Q-See

Public UDP port:85

Public TCP port:85

Private IP address:(IP of your DVR)

Private UDP port:85

Private TCP port:85

Then make a second rule:

Description: Q-See 1

Public UDP port:6036

Public TCP port:6036

Private IP address:(IP of your DVR)

Private UDP port:6036

Private TCP port:6036

If that doesnt fix the problem or if you have any further questions please visit our website and submit a question (http://bit.ly/1d6oLQ7). We would be happy to further assist you in getting your system setup for remote viewing.

Hi Q-See

I just purchased QC-308 system and I am having problems getting my Airport Extreme router to recognize my box via the internet regarding the uPNP settings.

I reserved the ports 85 and 37777 by making these port-forwarding exceptions but the Q-SEE box doesn't pass the test it conducts.

I can go to http://canyouseeme.org and see that ports 85 and 37777 and I can confirm these ports are opened.

Not sure what else I am missing on this process. Do I need to reserve the IP the Q-SEE box currently gets via IP from my router?

My router mode is setup for DHCP and NAT.

I can't get this part to work. CAn you please help me out? Is there a phone number I could call you for additional help?

I can't find any specific support steps pn your website, information is too confusing and lacks great detail. And I am an engineer.

Thank you!

Hello, my name is James with Q-See Support. If you opened the ports manually in your Airport you may still get a UPnP error on the startup wizard. This is because the device is trying to open the ports automatically and they are already reserved. Are you able to use the IP from http://canyouseeme.org and view the cameras when away from the network? If you cannot please submit a question on our support site and let me know what your reference number is so I can further assist you (http://tinylink.in/8BJF).

Q-See (James),

Maybe you can help me. I have a Q-See QT4516 and am using an Apple Airport Extreme, Gen 5, Ver 7.6.4. I have had several Q-See systems and have not had a problem opening a port before and up until last month, my current configuration was working great. I had to make some changes to the Airport Extreme...it locked up so I had to do a factory reset. Every since then, I have not be able to open any ports. I have reset the modem, the Airport and the Q-See DVR an no help. I just can't get any port to open. I feel like I know what I am doing since I have had the system up before and on two other systems, I really feel it is the Airport...I have callee Apple Support with no help. Any ideas?

Thanks

Right after I wrote this, I figured out what was wrong. I thought I would put in on here for others to view. The issue I was having was I had configured my Airport Extreme to block my son's computer and game system from the internet from 11pm to 6 am via the "Enable Access Control: Timed Access Control" under the Network tab of the Airport Utility. Apparently that what was causing my issues...I went in to the Timed Access Control and added the MAC address of my DVR and set it for everyday, all day. As soon as it had the info, I was able to access the ports I needed and my cameras were returned to normal. Not sure anyone else will have the same issue, but I wanted to share just in case. Thanks!
