My son lost his iPod touch. We have searched our entire house with no luck. Is there anyway to find it? I'm afraid the battery is dead. I did install the "Find My iPhone" app on it. But had no luck on there as well. more

Even if it were on, there would be no way to locate it within your house since without GPS the location is only for your WiFi router, not the iPod itself, though you perhaps have sent a tone to it and hoped to hear it.
Just FYI, the app goes on a device you want to track from. On devices you want to track you set up Find My iPod in the iCloud settings.
