You can delete individual songs directly on your iPad by swiping from right to left on them on the song selection screen. You can also delete songs when connected to your computer's iTunes, either by changing your sync selections or by selecting the Music category under the iPad 'device' on the left-hand sidebar of your computer's iTunes (if you don't have the sidebar showing then option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC should get it to show)

and using the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and delete what you don't want on it anymore.

Why is this sooooo hard?  I don't get it???  I have been trying for two days to delete songs from my ipad and NOTHING WORKS!  I cannot swipe, nothing happens and I have no idea how to connect ipad to iTunes because the iTunes on my PC will not open since it updated.

This new update is horrible, draining the battery and very glitchy. I miss Steve Jobs.

What don't you get ? The instructions in my above post should work for songs that are downloaded or syncedto your iPad. What happens when you swipe/drag, from right to left, across a track's name on the Songs screen ?

For iTunes on your computer, if it doesn't open then you've tried reinstalling it and/or posting in the iTunes For Windows forum and asking for help there ?

In the Music app on your iPad tap on the Songs tab/button at the bottom of the screen - that will list the songs, and you can then delete individual songs (that are stored on your iPad) by swiping /dragging across them from right-to-left.

To delete songs from your ipad mini that have synced from your Pc, go to your PC and in your songs, create a new folder with nothing in it, call it a new name that you have not used before. Plug ipad into your computer and when devices comes up, click on the ipad and go to songs, take off sync songs, go to sync with folder , click on it and find new folder you created and tick on it. Sync with your ipad and the songs(from your PC) should all be deleted from your ipad.  You can then return to your PC and create a new folder with only the songs in it that you want on your ipad (you can use these for your home screen or lock page) and follow the same again, ticking on the new folder that you now want.

Why are you including a link to a site to spam software that is of no use for this thread, and with instructions that don't make no sense for removing/adding songs - you don't select folders of songs to sync to a device.

You can then return to your PC and create a new folder with only the songs in it that you want on your ipad (you can use these for your home screen or lock page) and follow the same again

How do you use a song on your 'home screen or lock page' ?

i too tried following your instructions & it did not work on mine.  iPad mini will not let me swipe off individual songs off of my song list.  Maybe that only works with some versions but not all.
