A2DP is a profile and is supported in Mountain Lion. Here's what http://support.apple.com/kb/PH10549?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US

"Apple’s Bluetooth software supports the following profiles on client devices:

Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP): Controls stereo audio headphones........ "

The real question for quality of sound is what Codecs are supported. apt-X appears to be the best.

Take a look at this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2708099?answerId=17651141022#17651141022. It talks about how to determine what Bluetooth Codec is being used on your Mac and that the Sennheisers also support the apt-X CODEC. And also how to get apt-X running if it is no. If you need to get "Bluetooth Explorer" you can download Xcode for free from the Mac App store.
