Q: Logic automatically adding modulation to track at random times.

I have an already recorded track using the British Combo Synth Lead. I'll play it back a couple times within the mix and suddenly, out of nowhere (never touched the mod wheel), the track will have a modulation effect which I can't seem to take off or find out where it's coming from. Any ideas/similar experiences?

(Using an Akai Max49 if that means anything in this situation)

Assuming you are using Mainstage, the quick and easy solution is to create a "dummy" control.

I had to do this with my Roland guitar synth, because every time I moved the switch from guitar to synth, Mainstage would get MIDI information, and freak out.

    1. Set the dummy control to recieve (meaning get midi-mapped)

    2. Playback your track that is for whatever reason sending MIDI info you don't want

    3. Turn off MIDI mapping

    4. Bury the dummy control so you don't have to see it on your screen.

    OTHERWISE:

Make sure the Akai is not sending MIDI Clock, by telling it not to in Audio Midi Preferences.
