annazmussaqib,

OK, now enter the following command in the administrative user’s Terminal window:

sudo date -n 122921502013

When it asks you for a password, enter your administrative user’s password; it will not show the password as you type it.

After you enter that command, enter this command again:

date

It should show a date and time that is close enough to the actual date and time that you should be able to go into the Date & Time pane of System Preferences without it hanging.

annazmussaqib,

I’m glad that I could be of assistance to you. If I ever get the opportunity to visit İstanbul, I would be immensely grateful to see its sights in the company of someone who knows the city well — thank you for your kind offer.

I don’t know if you can answer this question for me, but can you recommend a good book on the Ottoman Turkish language, as it was spoken and written before Atatürk’s reforms, that is written in a western European language? In my case, English would be most convenient, but if you’re familiar with one written in, say, French or German, that would be good too.

Yeni yılınız kutlu olsun! 🙂

Thanks a lot...

Happy new year... (:

I am a foreign student studying here, at 'Istanbul University'. I have been living here since last year. But, I know lots of places of Istanbul. Actullay not only Istanbul, I can say the whole Turkey. I like visiting new places. You are always welcome to my lovely Istanbul...

I can't tell you much about the book. Because I don't know about it. But, I can search for it. I can ask my Turkish friends about it...

Once I get the name I will definitely let you know...

Have a nice day...
