Paying FLAC- files through apple TV.

I'm using a Synology NAS server to play FLAC audiofiles with DS audio in the server, and wireless streaming the file with airplay to my apple tv3 and using the optical output to a DAC.

My question is: Is the apple tv do anything with the file other than letting it through to the DAC?
