magnet of ipad air smart cover weakened?

Hey guys,

does the smart cover magnet weaken after some time?

i just got the ipad air 2 months ago and somehow i feel like the cover comes off more easily than it did at the beginning. also, i dropped it recently and the smart cover got dettached. no harm to the ipad and the cover though. i just put it back together but it seems as though the cover doesn't hold so well now. is that even possible or am i just haluzinating?
