Start up disk is full message again. I've cleared photos and trash and still only have 6 left on the drive?

Went to Daisy Disk and consolidaed my photos, got a My Passport and transferred all my docluments off and backing up the MacBook Air daily.

Still only have 6G of space, I want to upload updates and fear that iwill I will again fill up the memory. Any ideas?

MacBook Air (11-inch Mid 2012), OS X Mountain Lion (10.8.5)
