How do I get carbonite compleytely off my mac?

iMac, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

It took a while, but I finally realized you have to look at the root Library - the one found directly on your Hard Disk usually named Macintosh HD -- not the Library found in your user home or through the Go menu. You can get to the Macintosh HD through the Path button on the top row of the finder window.

Interestingly, the carbonite .plist file kept reappearing for around 6 times after being sent to trash repeatedly -- just a second or two after moving it to trash it would miraculously reappear in Preferences -- it finally gave up when I managed to empty the Trash before it could reappear -- amazing tenacity...


It took help from MacKeeper Smart Uninstaller to finally get all of Carbonite files off my MacBook Pro late 2010 running Sierra OS v. 10.12.6.


Good luck getting rid of this vampire app...persevere -- it's a good feeling to be free of it...
