syncing problems to apple tv

I am having trouble linking to my apple tv after a hard drive failure on my mac which has now been resolved.

I can see all my photos in iphoto but cannot get it to sync across, any ideas?

Do i need to have home sharing on or not?

MacBook, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1)

Hi martinrobertmuxlow,

Thanks for using Apple Support Communities. If you have a 2nd or 3rd generation Apple TV, you can use Home Sharing to share photos with your Apple TV:

Setting up Home Sharing for Apple TV (2nd generation and 3rd generation)

Step 4 includes this instruction:

To share personal photos with Apple TV, choose File > Home Sharing > Choose Photos to Share and select the option to share photos. Learn more about sharing with Apple TV.

Cheers,

- Ari
