i want to update a software update in the app store and it says it needs to be restarted and when i click yes it says it can because i need to quit twitter but i can't because i click quit on twitter but it dosent

Try this: Option ⌥ Click on the Twitter icon in the Dock and select Force Quit from the pop-up menu.
