Does deleting all of the users work to wipe a computer to sell?

I had an old computer that I was trying to sell and when I went to wipe it out before the buyer picked it up, I deleted all of the users on the device to get rid of my old files. When I went to check that the hard drive was empty, it showed that it was still somewhat full. Is the data still there, If yes, where did it go?
