Can i install leopard on my g4 mac mini with a 10.5.4 retail disc?

Hello. i have recently found a mac mini g4. and i really want it on leopard (no i am not buying another mac, i just want to upgrade this mac.) and i found a retail leopard 10.5.4 disc. my mac mini is currently on 10.4.11.... will it install or do i need an exact 10.5 disc? (and yes the 10.5.4 disc does come in the X galaxy box. its retail.
