Q: How do I retrieve my calendar data more than 6 months in the past.

I use both iCloud and iCal and they sync perfectly.  I have a MacBook Air Mac OS X version 10.7.5 and a iPhone 5C.  Ever since I bought the 5C phone my calendar data now only goes back 6 months.  How do I get all my previous calendar data back?

My settings on iCal under preferences/ advanced, the box next to "Delete events X days after they have passed" is unchecked.  What else do I do?

Thanks!

If the older events aren't appearing on your phone, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Sync (in the Calendars section) and set this to All Events.

Thanks randers4 but it's already set to All Events.  Any other ideas?  Thanks again!

You may have already done this, but if this is an iCloud calendar, go to icloud.com, open your calendar, click on the gear-shaped icon on the bottom left and choose Preferences, go to the Advanced section and make sure you haven't checked Hide Events next to Old Events.

Do the missing older events still appear on your calendar on icloud.com?

Yep, I had already done that as well.  It seems to have happened when I purchased my new phone and we did some "clean up".  Somewhere in one of the calendars it must have another "hide/delete/remove after 6 months" type of button.  It's the same on my iCal as well as iCloud neither can see more than 6 months in the past unless it was a recurring event.  The recurring events are the only events I can see in the past.  I do appreciate your help!  Thanks for trying.  Hopefully someone has the answer.  Otherwise I'll brave the store and go ask in person.  : )

If the old events are still on your calendar on iCloud.com but not on your phone, go to settings>iCloud, turn Calendrs off, choose Delete from My iPhone (they will still be in iCloud), then after a few seconds turn Calendars back on again.
