How to program the mmo7 cyborg mad catz rat 7 mouse for os x mavericks

Hi all,

I was having trouble programming my mmo7 mouse to work in mavericks. Then I stumbled on a way to make it work. So thought i'd share it with you.

Program the mouse in the normal way, and then save and activate the profile. At this point, if you try to use the newly programmed mouse button (in the chosen application/game) it will not work. However, if you restart the computer, it will then work.

Note: to be able to program the mouse buttons, you will have had to have dragged the “mad catz editor.app” (from the applications folder) into the “accessibility” list (which is in the “privacy” section of “security and privacy” of the “system preferences” app. Once it is in this list (called “Allow the apps below to control your computer”), then tick the box.

The only buttons that I can't program, are the two action-lock buttons. Sometimes I can program them (where they work for a while), but then the action-lock also kicks in (which makes a mess of things). But everything else works. If you know how to get hese working, then please leave a post below.

Hope this helps.

Love,

w.

I have the R.A.T.7, but I presume the setup is the same. The keyboard combination to browse back in both Safari and Chrome is Command + Left Bracket ( cmd + [ ). Hold both keys at the same time to create the command, depress the "accept changes" button and then "save" button.

I have had occations when I reprogram the buttons where they still do not function. I will change away from the updated profile and then change back. This seems to force the updated profile to reload and at that point it tends to function as programmed.

Hope that helps

I found that the following stuff helped me a lot with my RAT 9 Mouse from Saitek. Since March 2014 the /$&%&(")(/"$§ at MadCatz have provided a new beta driver named

Mad Catz RAT Driver 1.1.69.zip

(I linked the file for you to guys http://www.mmnt.net/db/0/0/ftp.saitek.com/pub/software/beta/Mac)

I installed it and whoa it also makes the Mouse usable under Mavericks and solves the Mouseover/Hover-Problem in Browserlinks and on the Dock.
