devices not discover on bluetooth preferences

I just bought a Sony MDR-1RBT MK2 bluetooth haedset, but my Macbook pro can't find it.

I have followed the procedure of the manual, such as hold down the power button for 7 seconds.

I checked the headset could work with a mobile phone.

My Macbook pro bluetooth must work, because I am using bluetooth wireless mouse.

My Macbook pro purchased in 2010 with OS upgraded to 10.9.1.

What is the possible problem? Are my Macbook pro too old to support?

configuration of Macbook pro: 17-inch, MacBookPro6,1, processor 2.53GHz Intel Core i5, 8 GB Memory, NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M 512MB

Bluetooth:Broadcom, chipset:2070B0

MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), Macbook pro: 17-inch, MacBookPro6,1

Thank you for your reply. I solved this problem.

Thank you the genius of Apple store.

They helped me to find the problem.

It was because the headset required to press the power button long enough to activate the pairing mode.
