"Multiple matches for the CD was found online, plase choose the correct one from the list below"

When importing CDs into my iTunes library I am prompted that multiple matches were found for the album online and I should choose the correct one from a list below, how am I meant to know which is the correct match? Also, after importing one of these matches the sound quality is very bad, is there a relationship between this and the match I choose or is this a seperate problem? As much information on this subjected as possible will be much appreciated

First off - there is no connection between the track information and the sound quality, so any sound quality issue is a different problem.

As for the multiple matches issue, you're right, there is no way to decide which one of the matches is best before selecting one. You simply have to select one and hope for the best. But don't forget, you can change the information to whatever suits you, even after importing.

Highlight a track and right-click/Get Info/Info/... and you can enter the correct information in the fields you see there. To change several tracks at once (i.e. the whole album), highlight all the tracks from that album and again right-click/Get Info/Info/... (there will be a "do you wish to change mutiple items" question).

No idea why Apple haven't noticed the lack of choice when you see that message. Other programmes I use which come across that issue let me see the information in the matches before choosing.
