No Sound From Docking Station

I have just bought an 'IWANTIT ISDK13' docking staion for my ipod nano gen 7 but cannot get any sound through. I have tried re-setting the ipod but nothing. The ipod does charge whilst on the dock and the dock speakers can be heard when first switched on but there is no music coming through from the ipod?

I have the same problem. I have a ipod classic that used to work perfectly well in my IWatantIt docking station and via a cable to my car sterio. I then updated the ipod software a few months ago when using iTunes and both docking devices promptly stopped working for sound. I've replaced the one for the sterio (for an Apple branded cable) for £14 but the car sterio will cost much, much more change.

I have seen others writting about this around the web and Apple must be aware of it but seem determined not to adress the issue. At best, it is a case of extreemly poor customer service. At best....

Same problem here. New iPod Nano 7th gen won't play on the 'iWantit ISDK13'. The iPod charges and I can play audio via the AUX-in, but I'm not getting any sound via lightning connection.

Searching online there seems to be a number of folks having problems getting their Apple devices to play on docks.

I returned the dock to the store and got it exchanged, thinking it was a faulty dock, but still have no sound.

Ye, its amazing that this problem hasn't been sorted out long ago as it seems a common problem. I took the dock back to the store and got them to test it. They couldn't get my ipod to work on it but when they tried a different device the dock worked fine. Thinking it was my ipod I went around the store trying it out on a number of display docks. It worked on only one..... a JBL dock which I decided to buy and it works brilliantly. In fact, its better than the iwantit model so I am more than happy now. And there's me thinking that buying a docking station would be simple!!

Thanks for your reply too. It was comforting to know that it wasn't just my ignorance with modern technology that was the problem.

Thanks for your reply. I thought that my ipod was at fault as well but after going back to the store and trying it on a few display models I eventually found a JBL dock that worked fine with the nano. The dock I returned worked with other devices too, so I guess the two just aren't compatable even though they say they are.

Thanks again and don't give up on your nano. They do seem a good peice of kit despite the problem finding a suitable dock.
