Q: How do I delete unwanted apps?

Ihave so many apps on my phone i need to get rid of but my phone wont let me hold down the main button until all apps are shaking with the x in the right corner.

iPhone 5, iOS 7.0.4

You don't hold down "the main button". You hold down on the app's icon until all the icons shake.
