Samsung SGH-d807 Bluetooth connection help

I just recently bought a new Samsung SGH-d807 phone and was wanting to use Bluetooth to connect it to my iBook so I could transfer .mp3's to use as ringtones, among other things. To do this, I had to go out and buy a Bluetooth adapter so that my iBook would be able to connect to Bluetooth devices. I realize that the DLink adapter is the one officially supported by Apple, but the only one I could find around town was the Targus USB Bluetooth Adapter - Class 2 (ACB10). The packaging said it was supported by OS X 10.4 so I figured it was worth a shot. I plugged the adapter in and my iBook seems to recognize it without any problems, but I've tried to have my iBook find my new Samsung phone and it can't. I've got the phone's Bluetooth turned on and made sure that it's discoverable by other devices.

I guess what I'm wondering is if anyone out there with this phone has had the same problem, or if anyone can give me any suggestions or anything like that. Any help would be great.

iBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.7)
