I probably have the same machine. I have the i7 2.3/16gb/512gb/Nvidia 750m.

I need both Windows and OSX. Installed Windows 8.1, after following some work arounds to set the petition up properly.

I dont have working brightness nor volume controls. The only way to set brightness is via the Nvidia software and volume via windows itself. Bootcamp control panel doesnt show these relevent tabs either.

I would love a solution.

This might work:

Use the Settings Charm to control the screen brightness in Windows 8:

  1. Position the cursor in the upper-right or lower-right hand corner of the screen.
  2. When the Charms appear, click Settings.
  3. A brightness icon appears in the lower right-hand corner of the screen. Use it to control the screen's brightness.

I don't have Windows 8 so I have no idea what Charms are.

Thanks ...
Ken
