Why doesnt my IPOD sync anymore

I have an I pod that is not recognised by ITUNES anymore.

When i plug it, the battery icon charges and the IPOD sais it is connected, but I TUNES doesnt see it and i am unable to sync my labrary.

Any ideas?

iPod classic, Windows 7
