Q: When I try the Terminal fix, the Apple line does not appear.

Can I write in the whole line, or is there another way to attempt this? I'm getting this Error 3194 trying to update an Iphone4 5.1.1 on Mac Intel 10.5.8, with the most up to date Itunes 10.6.3

It isn't possible to update an iPhone 4's iOS version from Mac OS X 10.5.8. It also isn't possible to sync the device with 10.5.8 if its iOS version is updated from the device itself.

So my hands are tied and I have to purchase the new Mac OS X in order to update the phone, or update the phone elsewhere and then not be able to sync it with my computer?
