Best Slim Protection case in Silicone for the Price?

Hi,

Can anyone shed some light on what the best priced case is in the slim and protective form factor.

We are thinking about a few hundred of the TUFFKASE AirDefense or Airshield
(www.tuffkase.com), and are very happy, with the samples we ordered.

Before we spend just under $20 a case, wanted to get more opinions.

I don't want plastic frames, and I want something easy to install and use, and possibly wash annually. I also don't need a front screen protector, the Gorilla2 glass is amazingly scratch-proof. The Tuffkase Air has a flap in the back that enables me to to get access to the asset tag when I need to, yet covers it.
The corners are extra re-inforced and the back and interior ribs seem to protect very well. We dropped from 3 feet, and no problems. (Haven't done the 5 foot drop-test yet...nervous.)

The otterbox and other sat $50+ seems crazy high, and too much protection..the kids are not going to be doing survival missions!

Anyway is $20 a good price?

Silicone soft cases are available through eBay for under $5, and still offer excellent protection for the back. Do an eBay search for "iPad soft slim silicone", and look for the color and style you want.

If you have an ipad Air, this case is really good:

Hi Poikkeus1,

We tried 4 or 5 cheap Silicone cases from ebay from resellers/companies (like Amzr, Fintie,Kays,Armorbox, etc) but the silicone ones that were low cost were just a thin skin. No drop protection at all. I mean None. That's fine for average user, but not for kids and other users that could drop the very expensive new Air.

The one you sent me, we also tried similar, it's actually made with TPU and is a soft type of plastic, and also a great case for the price, but useless as a PROTECTIVE CASE, for a serious drop.

In fact, the most persuasive video for me was this series of iPad drop videos :

So now, I'm pretty much decided that for around $20, this Tuffkase AIR, is the best case for my needs. Perhaps not for your environment, but we have hundreds of kids in our environment, we need low cost, protection in a slim and washable format. This case is our choice. ( But thanks for your advice)

When you use your case more, leave some notes on how your choice turned out. Everybody has a specific use in mind for their device, and you always have to weigh the usability of a case with its weight.

The Tuffcase Air won't preserve your iPad from catastrophic damage, but I'm sure that the added grippiness will make your device much safer.
