My Macbook Air does not have this "Use audio for:" option, so how can I record audio otherwise?

Really? I just wanted to ask a question. I'll repeat it here.

You should also ask this in the MacBook Air forum. This is the forum for the white and black plastic MacBooks that were discontinued in 2010. You should also post this question there to increase your chances of getting an answer.

Your MacBook Air, like certain models of macbook/pro (retina) and others

may find access to record sound via USB ports, and a preliminary search

online didn't say much. And I don't have any recommendations except plan

on spending about $100. or more. Here's a quaint looking thing:

Also, some iPhone headsets with mic had been said to work with MB/Air & MB/Pro.

Again, can't say much to verify; except the plugs are different on those cords.

Good luck & happy computing! 🙂
