Pages' cursor is not visible and I can't type on the page

Hello, I have an emergency. My cursor in pages is not visible and I can't type anything. I have tried closing and reopening, quitting and restarting. I can make a textbox, but I can't make just a regular document. If I open old documents I do have a cursor, but not in a new one. Please help! Thank you!
