Restoring photos from iphone 4

I recently deleted photos on my iphone 4 (which is not backed up to iCloud or any other source) and those photos are very important to me but I don't know how to get them back. I have heard that if I connect it to a PC I can do something, but I have a mac and I do not know what to do. As I said earlier I have never backed it in any way. Help !

To add on to my question, I have checked my photo stream and they are not there, I think. It because when I deleted the photos it deleted them everywhere.
